Boston’s waterfront is about to burst into color, music, and marigolds! The Veronica Robles Cultural Center (VROCC) presents its 2026 Día de Muertos celebration at the ICA Watershed in East Boston — New England’s largest multi-day Day of the Dead event, and it’s completely free.
For three days — Saturday, October 31, Sunday, November 1, and Monday, November 2 — the Watershed will glow with ofrendas, the beautiful altars where families honor their ancestors and departed loved ones with candles, marigolds, photos, and favorite foods. It’s a joyful tradition that turns remembrance into a party, and the whole community is invited to join in.
Expect colorful face painting, towering puppets, live music, community art, and an exhibition celebrating this beloved Mexican tradition. VROCC’s celebration has become a Boston fall favorite, drawing families from every neighborhood to share food, stories, and culture together.
Bring the kids, bring grandma, bring your camera: this is one of the happiest weekends of Boston’s autumn. Admission is free, and the memories — and the photos — will last long after the marigolds fade.
