Save the Date: Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market Returns to Phoenix March 6–7, 2027

Save the date, Phoenix families: the Heard Museum Guild Indian Fair & Market returns on Saturday, March 6 and Sunday, March 7, 2027, and it is one of the most joyful weekends of the year. Now in its 69th year, the fair is the largest American Indian art fair in Arizona and the second largest in the United States — a beloved tradition that has been bringing artists and families together since 1959.

More than 300 Native American artists from tribal nations across the U.S. and Canada will fill the museum grounds with juried fine art: handwoven textiles, pottery, baskets, turquoise jewelry, paintings, sculpture, and contemporary works that blend heritage with bold new ideas. A juried competition awards the coveted Best of Show, and the signature art auction is a favorite moment of the weekend.

It is very much a family day out. Native food vendors serve crowd favorites, storytellers share tales with young listeners, and art demonstrations, exhibits, and live performances keep children and grandparents equally entertained. Best of all, kids 16 and under get in free, so the whole family can wander, taste, watch, and learn together.

The setting adds to the magic. The Heard Museum, at 2301 North Central Avenue in Phoenix, has shared American Indian art and culture with the public since 1929, and the fair turns its courtyards into an open-air celebration of creativity and community. Standard admission is $26, with discounts for seniors, military members, and American Indians.

Planning ahead is easy: the fair runs both days of the first weekend of March 2027, and Phoenix families can make it a full day by exploring the museum’s galleries between shopping and performances. Mark the calendar now — this is the kind of weekend that becomes a family tradition.
