Houston, assemble! The Houston Museum of Natural Science is bringing one of the biggest pop-culture exhibitions in the country to Hermann Park this holiday season. Marvel: The Exhibition – Universe of Super Heroes opens to the public on Saturday, December 19, 2026, on Level 2 of the museum at 5555 Hermann Park Drive, with a special members’ preview the day before, on December 18.
The exhibition takes visitors on a journey through more than 85 years of Marvel history, tracing how comic-book pages grew into a worldwide phenomenon of films, television and beloved characters. More than 150 rare and original artifacts fill the galleries, including authentic props and costumes from Marvel Studios and original drawings and artwork by iconic comic artists such as Stan Lee and Steve Ditko.
Along the way, visitors get exclusive behind-the-scenes looks at how some of popular culture’s most iconic stories and characters were created — a treat for lifelong comic readers, movie fans and families looking for a spectacular holiday outing in the Museum District.
Members can get tickets now through October 25, and public tickets go on sale October 26. Admission includes access to all of the museum’s permanent exhibit halls, except certain special exhibitions and the Brown Hall of Entomology, so one ticket makes for a full day of dinosaurs, gems, butterflies and super heroes.
