The Baltimore Museum of Art builds its calendar around families — and everything starts with the best four-letter word in museums: free. Beyond free admission every day, the BMA runs free family programs anchored by its Joseph Education Center: drop-in art making, family guides and gallery games, and periodic Family Days that fill the museum with performances, tours and studio projects tied to the exhibitions.
The current season is a family gift: the Flashback photography exhibition (through February 21, 2027) with its community reading room, Raúl de Nieves’ glowing butterfly installation (through January 3), and the sculpture gardens outside for post-museum wiggles. Thursday evenings, when the museum stays open until 9 p.m., suit older kids beautifully.
The BMA is at 10 Art Museum Drive. Family program dates are at artbma.org.
