You have seen this view a hundred times — in movies, TV shows, and postcards. The Jackson Street Bridge, just east of downtown, frames the Atlanta skyline perfectly between its railings, and standing there at golden hour feels like stepping inside a film.
Fans of ‘The Walking Dead’ will recognize it instantly from the show’s famous opening, but you do not need to be a fan to love it. The bridge is a free public sidewalk with one of the greatest urban panoramas in the Southeast: the towers of Peachtree Street rising straight ahead, with the Freedom Park greenway below.
It is ideal for photographers, movie fans, and romantics. Tip: come 20 minutes before sunset, bring your camera, and stay a few minutes after dark when the city lights switch on — that is the shot.
The bridge is free to visit at any hour and sits right on the Freedom Park trail system, so it pairs perfectly with a walk or bike ride. It is also one of the most photographed spots in Georgia — do not be surprised to find a wedding shoot or two happening beside you.
