Penguin March Returns to the Kansas City Zoo This Weekend, October 31–November 1

Kansas City, get ready for one of the coolest traditions in town. The Penguin March returns to the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium this weekend, Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, at 11:00 a.m. at Helzberg Penguin Plaza — and it is free with regular zoo admission.

For about fifteen joyful minutes, the zoo’s charismatic penguins leave their plaza habitat to waddle, explore and parade outdoors in the fresh autumn air, side by side with their animal care team. It is a rare chance to see these fan favorites up close, out from behind the glass, and to learn about their behaviors, their personalities and the care they receive every day.

The March is a beloved seasonal tradition, and this weekend is only the beginning. If you miss this round, the penguins march again November 27–29, then on December weekends — December 5–6, 12–13, 19–20 and 26–27 — and on weekends throughout January and February, always at 11:00 a.m. at Helzberg Penguin Plaza.

Arrive a little early to find a good spot along the plaza, bring the kids, and have your camera ready: few sights in Kansas City are as cheerful as a line of penguins on parade. The Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium is at 6800 Zoo Drive.
