The season of giving is almost here, and Washington, D.C. is ready to share it. Safeway and United Way of the National Capital Area have opened volunteer registration for the 27th Annual Safeway Feast of Sharing, presented by Events DC — one of the region’s largest community Thanksgiving celebrations.
Hundreds of volunteers are needed from November 23 to 25 to help prepare and serve a traditional Thanksgiving meal and warmly welcome approximately 1,500 neighbors. The big day takes place on Wednesday, November 25, at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, bringing together community members, volunteers, and local organizations for a day centered on food, fellowship, and support.
For the first time, United Way NCA will lead volunteer recruitment, communications, and on-site coordination. Opportunities span all three days and include meal preparation, guest services, dining room support, event setup and cleanup, and even language interpretation — so there is a way for everyone to pitch in.
Twenty-seven years of full plates and full hearts: this beloved tradition keeps proving that when neighbors come together, nobody has to celebrate alone.
