Tampa’s sweetest Halloween tradition unfolds along the water: the Riverwalk’s annual trick-or-treat celebration turns the downtown waterfront into a costume parade mile, with treat stations from local businesses and organizations lining the path from Curtis Hixon Park along the river.
Families in full costume regalia — pirates strongly represented, for obvious reasons — stroll the decorated Riverwalk as the sun goes down, collecting candy with skyline views and zero traffic worries on the pedestrian path. The event typically lands the weekend before Halloween and draws thousands of Tampa’s smallest ghouls.
Arrive by the free streetcar, end with ice cream, and let the river breeze do the spooky sound effects.
Halloween on the water: Tampa does it in sandals, with a skyline.
