Tampa’s wildest Christmas lights aren’t on a house — they’re at the zoo. Christmas in the Wild at ZooTampa opens with a members’ night on November 27, 2026, then lights the park for the season with thousands of twinkling displays, a giant illuminated tree, Santa’s village and animal encounters after dark.
The event has grown into one of Tampa’s defining holiday traditions: families stroll glowing pathways with hot cocoa, meet Santa and his elves, and watch the zoo’s residents enjoy their own seasonal enrichment treats. Select rides and holiday shows keep the energy merry between light displays.
Tickets are date-specific and December weekends sell out — plan like a local and book the moment your calendar allows.
The animals are dreaming of sugarplums. Tampa families are wide awake for this one.
