Each December, the Henry B. Plant Museum performs its favorite transformation: the Victorian Christmas Stroll, when the 1891 Tampa Bay Hotel’s museum wing fills with trees, garlands and decorations in the style of the Gilded Age holidays.
Rooms glow with period ornaments, antique toys and the sparkle of a wealthy 1890s Christmas — porcelain dolls, tin toys, feather trees and tables set for a feast Henry Plant’s guests would recognize. The stroll has been a Tampa family tradition for more than four decades, with carolers and the museum shop’s beloved holiday finds adding to the glow.
Outside, the minarets wear the sunset; inside, it’s permanently Christmas Eve in 1895.
Book the season’s most elegant nostalgia trip early — Tampa families have made it a ritual.
