Dino Days and Unseen Oceans Bring Dinosaurs and Deep-Sea Adventure to the California Academy of Sciences

San Francisco families get two adventures in a single visit at the California Academy of Sciences in Golden Gate Park, where Dino Days and Unseen Oceans are both open daily under one living roof.

Dino Days features 13 moving, roaring, life-size animatronic dinosaurs. Young paleontologists can come face-to-face with a fearsome T. rex, meet a duck-billed Parasaurolophus and even climb on a Pachyrhinosaurus, then dig into hands-on fossil fun inspired by the prehistoric world.

Unseen Oceans takes the same day in the opposite direction: down to the bottom of the sea. Visitors can pilot a high-tech submersible and explore the hidden world far beneath the surface, where strange creatures thrive in darkness and pressure with remarkable adaptations.

Together, the two exhibitions make an easy family plan at 55 Music Concourse Drive: start with dinosaurs, dive into the deep ocean, and still have the aquarium, rainforest and planetarium in the same building. The Academy is open Monday to Saturday from 9:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m., 365 days a year.
