Andy Warhol called his studio the Factory — and at The Andy Warhol Museum, families get one of their own. The Factory, the museum’s hands-on education studio, invites visitors to try Warhol’s own techniques: silkscreen printing, blotted-line drawing and acetate collage, with teaching artists on hand and all materials provided.
Weekend family programs and drop-in studio hours make it easy to fold art-making into a museum visit, and the museum’s family guides turn the seven floors of galleries into a scavenger hunt for soup cans, silver clouds and superstar portraits. It’s the rare art museum where ‘my kid made that’ is the souvenir.
The Warhol is at 117 Sandusky Street on the North Shore. Family program schedules are at warhol.org; studio activities are included with admission.
