Feel the Need for ‘Science of Speed’ at Kamin Science Center

Start your engines — scientifically. Science of Speed, the newest big exhibition at Pittsburgh’s Kamin Science Center, opened August 1, 2026, putting visitors inside the physics of fast: racing machines, reaction-time challenges and the engineering that shaves hundredths of a second off the clock.

The exhibition explores speed in all its forms — the aerodynamics of race cars, the biomechanics of sprinters, the velocity of a fastball — with hands-on stations that let you test your own limits. It’s the kind of show the Kamin does best: big machines, real data and a finish line everyone wants to cross twice.

Science of Speed is at the Kamin Science Center, One Allegheny Avenue on the North Shore, included with general admission. The center’s calendar, tickets and member information are at kaminsciencecenter.org.
