Philadelphia to Host World Premiere of Star Wars™: The Experience at The Franklin Institute

Philadelphia is about to become the center of the galaxy! The Franklin Institute will host the world premiere of Star Wars™: The Experience – A Journey Through the Galaxy, opening February 13, 2027, as the official exhibition of the Star Wars 50th anniversary celebration.

Created by The Franklin Institute together with Lucasfilm, Disney Consumer Products, and MDSX, this is the largest and most comprehensive behind-the-scenes exhibition ever devoted to the Star Wars saga. Across 18,000 square feet of interconnected galleries, visitors will discover more than 70 artifacts — many of them screen-used and never displayed before — alongside large immersive moments and an RFID-powered personalized journey.

From sound design and costume creation to fan art and video games, the exhibition celebrates the dreamers who built the galaxy, tracing the path from analog ingenuity to digital reinvention. It is a cinematic tribute to how Star Wars reshaped entertainment, culture, and technology across generations.

Tickets go on sale this November for the run from February 13 to September 6, 2027. And this is just the beginning: after its Philadelphia premiere, the exhibition launches a five-year tour across North America. Don’t miss the chance to experience it first in the City of Brotherly Love!
