One of downtown Orlando’s most beloved traditions is back: the Downtown Arts District presents the 17th Annual Día de los Muertos & Monster Event on Thursday, October 15, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m. at CityArts, 39 S. Magnolia Avenue — and admission is free.
The night blends the beauty of Día de los Muertos with the playful spirit of Halloween. Inside CityArts, artist opening receptions will showcase Day of the Dead and Halloween-inspired art created by regional, national and international artists. Outside, a street party takes over Magnolia Avenue with art vendors and installations, face painting, live musical and visual performances, and food and drink for the whole family.
This year’s cultural program is curated by CABETCAL, with participation from the Mexican Consulate, Casa de México, Mariachi Nuevo Guadalajara, the México Lindo Folkloric Ballet, belly dancer Sadira, Banda Alternativa, singer Francisco Gabriel, Ravelli, and a Día de los Muertos procession. New for 2026, guests can upgrade to the Sugar Skull Experience ($50), which includes entrance to CityArts, a meal voucher for the street-party food trucks, and two drink tickets. A $5 suggested donation supports the nonprofit Downtown Arts District.
