When the lights go down, the Orlando Museum of Art comes alive. On Friday, October 30, OMA invites guests 21 and over to Shadows in the Galleries: A Night of Southern Gothic & Hauntings, a Halloween celebration inspired by the haunting beauty and folklore of the American South.
From 8 p.m. to midnight, visitors can wander through dimly lit galleries and encounter immersive performance art by Phantasmagoria, Central Florida’s beloved Victorian and Steampunk storytelling troupe, whose eerie characters will guide guests through a night where mystery meets moonlight.
The evening also features passed hors d’oeuvres from Uncommon Catering, spooky cocktails from a cash bar, a spellbinding DJ set for dancing, and a photo booth to capture your most enchanting disguise. Costumes are strongly encouraged: ghostly belles, wayward spirits, and all manner of fantastical creatures are welcome. Phantom judges will prowl the galleries searching for the night’s most memorable looks, with prizes including OMA memberships, exclusive merchandise, and tickets to the 13th annual Florida Prize in Contemporary Art opening preview party.
General admission is $75 and includes museum access, hors d’oeuvres, performances, dancing, the photo booth, and costume contest eligibility. A $130 VIP experience adds a private lounge, dedicated bar, drink tickets, and elevated bites. OMA members save $5 on general admission or $10 on VIP.
Shadows in the Galleries takes place at the Orlando Museum of Art, 2416 North Mills Avenue, Orlando. Valet and paid self-parking will be available, and rideshare is encouraged. Tickets are on sale now.
