New Orleans art lovers have one last chance to catch a joyful celebration of young talent: the 13th Annual HBCU Art Showcase closes on Sunday, November 1, 2026, in the Education Gallery of the Ogden Museum of Southern Art, at 925 Camp Street.
Presented by Ogden Museum together with the New Orleans Chapter of The Links, Incorporated, the showcase celebrates the artistic achievements of students enrolled at Louisiana’s Historically Black Colleges and Universities. This year’s edition features 22 student artists from Dillard University and Xavier University of Louisiana.
The variety on view is part of the fun. Visitors will find photography by Santino Castillo, bold acrylic paintings by Jayla Williams and Dillion Stuart, ceramics by Tanna Dawkins, linoleum cuts by Kennedy Timmons, Timya James and Camryn Brown, a cast aluminum and plaster sculpture by Kent Smith, digital media by Josiaha Atkins, and colorful glazed stoneware masks by Sydney Murray and Ida Maina, among many other works made in 2025 and 2026.
The partnership behind the showcase began 13 years ago, and the Education Gallery is dedicated to highlighting arts education and student artwork from across the American South. It is a bright, uplifting send-off for this year’s edition ā and a wonderful reason to spend a day with Southern art in New Orleans before the show closes.
