Happy City News invites New Orleans families to save the date: the Ogden Museum of Southern Art will host a Free Family Day on Saturday, November 21, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., with free admission and a full morning of art, music and hands-on creativity in celebration of Native American Heritage Month.
The Ogden’s Free Family Days are among the happiest traditions on the city’s cultural calendar. Throughout the museum at 925 Camp Street, families can join art-making activities inspired by the exhibitions on view, take part in artist workshops, enjoy live performances and meet community partners offering their own family activities. It is a morning designed for children and grown-ups to explore together ā no tickets, no pressure, just art at kid height.
The November edition shines its light on Native American heritage, woven through the Ogden’s celebration of the art and culture of the American South. Between activities, families can wander the museum’s galleries, from its celebrated collection of Southern art to the craft and design treasures of the Center for Southern Craft & Design.
Admission is completely free from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., and no registration is needed ā just bring the family, your curiosity and a Saturday morning in New Orleans.
