New Orleans families are in for a treat as the Louisiana Philharmonic Orchestra hosts its annual Family Concert: Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, October 17, 2026, at Roussel Hall on the Loyola University campus.
Conducted by David Torns, the one-hour concert invites little ghouls and goblins in costume to enjoy a spine-tingling program filled with favorites from the big screen. The lineup includes music from Star Trek, Disney’s Frozen, the Nightmare Before Christmas Orchestral Suite, Harry Potter and the Sorcerer’s Stone, Indiana Jones’ Raiders March, and Saint-Saëns’ Danse Macabre — a perfect mix of spooky classical tunes and beloved movie themes.
The fun starts before the first note: doors open at 10:15 a.m. with Musician Learning Stations, where young music lovers can meet LPO musicians, ask questions, and explore the instruments up close. The concert begins at 11:00 a.m. and lasts about an hour with no intermission, making it ideal for kids of all ages.
Admission to LPO Family Concerts is free for children ages 15 and under, and just $15 for adults. Free parking is available in Loyola’s West Road Garage, and Roussel Hall sits at the Communications/Music Complex on the corner of St. Charles and Calhoun.
