Pilobolus Opens New Orleans Ballet Association’s 2026–27 Season of Dance Next Weekend

New Orleans is about to dance the night away! The New Orleans Ballet Association (NOBA) has lifted the curtain on its 2026–27 Season of World-Class Dance, and the lineup is nothing short of spectacular.

The celebration kicks off on October 17 at the Mahalia Jackson Theater with the beloved Pilobolus. The internationally acclaimed company returns with its signature mix of athleticism, illusion, and inventive storytelling, turning the human body into living art through playful, jaw-dropping shapes. It’s the perfect opening night for families and dance lovers alike.

The season keeps the magic coming all year long. On November 14, Alonzo King LINES Ballet graces New Orleans for the first time in 15 years with its breathtaking sculptural choreography. February brings the smoldering passion of Argentina’s Tango After Dark, led by World Tango Champion Germán Cornejo, with the timeless music of Astor Piazzolla. In March, the legendary Alvin Ailey American Dance Theater returns under Alicia Graf Mack with two programs, including the iconic masterpiece Revelations. And Houston Ballet closes the season in grand style on April 17 with Madame Butterfly.

All five performances take place at the Mahalia Jackson Theater. Subscriptions and single tickets are available now at nobadance.com, with season packages offering up to 20% savings — an invitation to experience the very best of dance right here in the Crescent City.
