Nashville families have a free Halloween treat waiting today, Saturday, October 24. The Tennessee State Museum celebrates the 28th annual Haunted Museum Storytelling Festival from 10:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., a cheerful and safe celebration for children of all ages at 1000 Rosa L. Parks Boulevard, right by Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Happy City News loves how this beloved tradition, which began in 1998, turns Tennessee history into a playful day of imagination.
The museum dresses up in its Halloween dĆ©cor for the occasion, and young visitors are invited to arrive in costume and settle in for spooky ā but not too scary ā stories from Tennessee’s past. Storytellers bring old tales to life along the museum’s ghost trail, while families can also enjoy games, hands-on crafts, prizes and performances by the beloved Nashville Puppet Truck throughout the day. Costumed interpreters and festive surprises around every corner keep the mood light, friendly and perfect for little ghosts and goblins.
Best of all, admission to the festival ā and to the Tennessee State Museum itself ā is completely free, making it one of the easiest family outings of the Halloween season in Nashville. Arrive early, bring your costume and your curiosity, and make a full morning of stories, crafts and Tennessee history in the heart of the city.
