‘Death Becomes Her’ Brings Its Drop-Dead Broadway Comedy to TPAC’s Jackson Hall Nov. 3-8

Nashville theatre lovers, get ready to laugh: Death Becomes Her, the Tony Award-winning musical comedy, makes its Nashville premiere at the Tennessee Performing Arts Center from November 3 to 8, 2026, with performances in TPAC’s Jackson Hall as part of the Broadway at TPAC season.

Based on the beloved 1992 film, the musical follows famous actress Madeline Ashton and her best frenemy, author Helen Sharp, whose lifelong rivalry takes a wild turn when the mysterious Viola Van Horn offers them a secret potion that promises eternal youth and beauty. The results are glamorous, outrageous and very, very funny, as the two divas discover that living forever comes with a few hilarious complications.

Directed and choreographed by Tony Award winner Christopher Gattelli, with a book by Marco Pennette and an original score by Julia Mattison and Noel Carey, the production arrives in Music City as one of six Nashville premieres in TPAC’s 2026-27 Broadway season. Critics and audiences on Broadway have praised its dazzling costumes, show-stopping numbers and drop-dead wit.

The nonprofit Tennessee Performing Arts Center, at 505 Deaderick Street in downtown Nashville, will host evening performances plus weekend matinees during the one-week run. It is a perfect excuse for a sparkling night out downtown, so gather your favorite theatre friends and plan to be there before the final curtain on November 8.
