Theater Latté Da: Where Musical Theatre Gets Reinvented

Musical theatre’s most exciting laboratory hides in Northeast Minneapolis. Theater Latté Da, resident at the historic Ritz Theater, has built a national reputation for reinventing the American musical — Sondheim in a speakeasy, classic scores stripped to their beating hearts, and new works developed through its NEXT festival that go on to stages across the country.

Founded in 1998, Latté Da treats every production as an act of musical storytelling first — actor-musicians, inventive staging, orchestras you can almost touch from the Ritz’s intimate 340 seats. Its holiday and signature productions sell out on word of mouth alone.

If the Guthrie is Minneapolis theatre’s cathedral, Latté Da is its workshop of wonders — sawdust, genius and show tunes.
