One of Los Angeles’ most magical family destinations floats inside the Skirball Cultural Center: Noah’s Ark, a life-size wooden ship filled with hundreds of handcrafted animals made from recycled materials. Children can climb aboard, help ‘feed’ the giraffes, make thunder and rain, and play their way through one of humanity’s oldest stories – told here as a tale about community and caring for the earth.
The ark’s gentle chaos is designed for ages from toddlers to grandparents: puppets to animate, ropes to pull, quiet corners to read in and a rainbow mist that delights everyone. Timed tickets keep it calm, and the rest of the Skirball – gardens, family programs and a sunny cafe – makes it an easy half-day of wonder.
