In Exposition Park, the California Science Center is Los Angeles’ ultimate free family day out. Kids can touch sea stars and rays in the Kelp Forest’s touch pool, wander through a living desert and rainforest in the Ecosystems galleries, and come face to face with real spacecraft – including the space shuttle Endeavour, displayed with its giant external fuel tank.
The Creative World and World of Life galleries pack in hands-on experiments for every age, and the seven-story IMAX theater wraps science around the whole family. General admission is free, the Rose Garden waits outside for a picnic break, and most families find one visit is never enough.
