Downtown Las Vegas is throwing its biggest Halloween bash of the year! Fremont Street Experience invites everyone to dress up and celebrate at “Costumes Under The Canopy” on Saturday, Oct. 31, a nightlong, free costume party beneath the famous Viva Vision screen.
The celebration packs in free live entertainment, a silent “spooky” disco, food trucks, and an over-the-top costume contest awarding $8,500 in cash prizes. On the 1st Street Stage, local favorite Alter Igor kicks off the music at 8 p.m. with fan-favorite songs and a spooky stage setup, while the Las Vegas-based, woman-owned Flame Kissed Fire Arts dazzles between sets with fire dancing and circus stunts. A theatrical Halloween show, Wicked Dreams, adds aerial acrobats, singers, and dancers to the 3rd Street Stage throughout the night.
The highlight of the evening is the multi-round costume contest starting at 10 p.m. on the 3rd Street Stage. The boldest, spookiest, and most creative looks compete for $5,000 for first place, $2,500 for second, and $1,000 for third. Contestants (21+) can register free onsite from 7 to 9 p.m., and celebrity judges include Fremont Street Experience president and CEO Cliff Atkinson.
For thrill-seekers, the Haunted SlotZilla zipline flies above the action in full Halloween spookiness. Admission to the party is free, and the entire five-block district comes alive with lights, music, and costumed revelers ā Happy City News’ pick for the most electric way to spend Halloween night in Las Vegas.
