A Secret Garden at Twilight: Monarch Butterflies Take Flight at Springs Preserve on November 13

Las Vegas glows a little softer after sunset on Friday, November 13, 2026, when Springs Preserve opens its Butterfly Habitat for a one-night-only evening celebration: A Secret Garden at Twilight. From 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., the garden paths of the 180-acre cultural and historic oasis at 333 S. Valley View Blvd. turn into a lantern-lit stroll, with live music, garden games, sweet treats and hands-on crafts for guests of all ages.

The heart of the night is a truly special send-off. As twilight settles over the desert gardens, guests will gather for a live release of monarch butterflies, watching the orange-and-black travelers take flight at dusk. It is a gentle, joyful farewell at the close of the Butterfly Habitat’s fall season, and a rare chance to see these beloved pollinators up close in the soft evening light.

Adding to the magic, the evening features a special performance by Nevada Ballet Theatre II, bringing dance into the garden as the sky changes color. Between the music, the crafts and the twilight release, the night is designed as a slow, wonder-filled pause in the middle of the city, just minutes from downtown and the Strip.

Admission is $15 for adults and $10 for children ages 3 to 17, with children 2 and younger admitted free. Members receive a 10 percent discount on all ticket categories. Tickets are available through Springs Preserve, and this one-night event is expected to be popular, so booking ahead is a good idea.

Happy City News loves evenings like this: nature, music and community coming together under the desert sky. Mark the calendar for November 13 and let the monarchs steal the show.
