The concert hall has wheels. The Kansas City Symphony’s Mobile Music Box — a traveling stage that turns parks, plazas and neighborhood corners into concert venues — returned for its fall 2026 season of free community concerts across the metro.
Small ensembles from the orchestra perform everything from Mozart to movie themes in the open air, steps from the audience, with kids conducting their first downbeats and neighbors discovering their hometown orchestra between the food trucks. The series is the Symphony’s front porch: no tickets, no dress code, no barrier between the music and the city it serves.
Watch the Symphony’s calendar for stops in your neighborhood each season — spring and fall routes crisscross both sides of the state line.
Great orchestras play great halls. The best ones also play your park.
