Halloween at the Zoo: Spookie Stripes Safari Nights for Little Explorers

October at the Kansas City Zoo & Aquarium gets delightfully spooky. The Spookie Stripes Safari runs all month — October 1–31, 2026 — turning a regular zoo day into a Halloween adventure made for kids.

Little explorers can follow the fun through the zoo’s tiger trails and beyond, collecting treats, spotting costumed fun and meeting the animals during their most active season. It’s all treats and gentle frights — designed for families, not nightmares.

Costumes are welcome (comfy shoes underneath!), and pairing the safari with an early-evening visit means cooler weather and livelier animals.

Boo at the Zoo has company: this October, Kansas City families get a whole month of stripes, treats and wild Halloween smiles.
