Houston has a beautiful date with fall color this November. The Museum of Fine Arts, Houston has announced that the River Oaks Garden Club’s beloved River Oaks Garden Festival will take place at Bayou Bend Collection and Gardens on Saturday and Sunday, November 14-15, 2026, filling Ima Hogg’s historic home and its 14 acres of gardens along Buffalo Bayou with flowers, ideas and community spirit.
Organized by the River Oaks Garden Club, the festival is one of Houston’s happiest garden traditions. Visitors can wander Bayou Bend’s famous azalea trails and woodland paths, enjoy floral displays and garden inspiration, and soak up expert advice for their own backyards, all in one of the most beautiful settings in the city. Bayou Bend, at 6003 Memorial Drive, is the MFAH’s house museum for American decorative arts, and its gardens are a destination in their own right every season of the year.
The timing could not be better: mid-November in Houston usually brings mild, sunny days that show the gardens at their best. Whether you are a serious gardener, a flower lover or simply looking for a cheerful weekend plan with family and friends, the River Oaks Garden Festival at Bayou Bend promises a refreshing celebration of nature, history and Houston hospitality.
