Thanksgiving week starts with a dance party in Houston. On Monday, November 23, 2026, Children’s Museum Houston opens on a special Monday for Turkey Jam, a joyful family celebration built around music, movement and one very famous bird: the museum’s own Children’s Museum Turkey.
The heart of the party is a Turkey DJ & Games session from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the Kids’ Hall Alcove, where families can shake their wishbones, dance freestyle or join a turkey line dance led by the museum team. The museum promises contagious beats, turkey-themed games and plenty of room for little dancers of every age.
Creativity gets its own station, too: all day long (or while supplies last) in One World, children can make festive DIY turkey costumes out of paper bags, a hands-on craft that turns every guest into part of the show. The event runs with the museum’s full day, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., and is included with general admission for all ages.
Children’s Museum Houston, at 1500 Binz Street, is a favorite family destination built for play with science, building and imagination. A Thanksgiving dance party with a DJ, costumes made by hand and a dancing turkey is exactly the kind of happy, grateful way to start the holiday week — Houston families, bring your best turkey strut.
