Singular Visions Turns Houston’s Old Rice Silos into Walk-In Sculpture through November 21

Happy City News readers, one of Houston’s most unusual art spaces is in full swing this fall. Singular Visions, the 2026 exhibition from Sculpture Month Houston, is open through November 21 at Site Gallery Houston, inside The Silos at Sawyer Yards, 1502 Sawyer Street, Suite 400.

Sculpture Month Houston is celebrating its 10th anniversary, and for this edition each participating artist has taken over one of the cylindrical silo spaces of the former rice mill. The result is a walk through a row of round, soaring chambers, where visitors step directly inside site-specific installations built for the silos themselves — sculpture you do not just look at, but stand within.

The lineup gathers some of Houston’s most dynamic artists, including Alicia Eggert, Beili Liu, Steve Parker, Margo Sawyer, Tom Bandage, Christie Blizard, Steve Brudniak, Alton DuLaney, Jonathan Durham, Tim Glover, Steve Murphy, Gladys Poorte, Chris Powell, Amy Scofield, Zulma Vega and Ed Wilson, among others. Expect work that intrigues as it challenges ordinary ideas of reality, from sound and light to large-scale constructions that play with the silos’ industrial curves.

The Silos sit in the heart of Sawyer Yards, Houston’s creative corridor of studios and galleries in the Arts District, so a visit pairs easily with a stroll through the surrounding artist studios. It is a genuinely one-of-a-kind museum experience — part gallery, part architectural adventure — and a perfect fall outing before the exhibition closes on November 21.
