Visit Denver Foundation Awards $160,600 in Scholarships to 48 Hospitality and Tourism Students

Denver is investing in its future one dream at a time. The Visit Denver Foundation has awarded $160,600 in scholarships to 48 talented students pursuing careers in tourism and hospitality at accredited Colorado colleges and universities, including the University of Denver, Metropolitan State University of Denver and the Auguste Escoffier School of Culinary Arts.

Since 2000, the Foundation has awarded nearly $2 million to 670 students, helping young Coloradans turn their passion for hospitality into successful, sustainable careers. The scholarships not only ease the cost of higher education, they also connect recipients with industry networks, mentorship and real-world opportunities.

This year’s recipients are already shining. Named scholarships honored industry legends and community leaders: Ana Carballo received the Pocky Marranzino scholarship at the University of Denver, Sarah Geffen was supported by a new scholarship from events leader Nicole Marsh, and Sarah Grundemann earned a baking and pastries scholarship honoring the late restaurateur Noel Cunningham.

The generosity keeps growing. Visit Denver’s 26th Annual Denver & Colorado Tourism Hall of Fame Dinner raised nearly $120,000 for the Foundation, and the “Boredom is Fired” workforce campaign continues opening doors for the next generation. Congratulations to all 48 scholars — the Mile High City’s future is in great hands!
