Math in Bloom Brings Fibonacci Day to Denver Botanic Gardens

Numbers bloom in the most unexpected places! Denver Botanic Gardens is getting ready to celebrate Fibonacci Day, a joyful day where the elegance of mathematics meets the beauty of the plant world. On Saturday, November 21, the Gardens will come alive with discovery, curiosity and plenty of hands-on fun for visitors of all ages.

Presented as part of the national Math in Bloom program, this special day invites guests to see nature through a brand-new lens. Where do spirals, petals and pinecones hide secret number patterns? From 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., mathematicians and nature lovers will lead tours, host workshops and spark lively conversations throughout the Gardens. Drop-in creative activities make it easy for kids and grown-ups alike to experiment, play and learn together.

The celebration is supported by the Simons Foundation and its Infinite Sums initiative, created in collaboration with botanic gardens across the country to show how mathematics enriches the way we experience the living world. All activities are included with general admission, so a whole afternoon of wonder costs nothing extra.

Mark the calendar for November 21 and head to York Street for a day when math truly comes into bloom!
