Denver theatre lovers have something deliciously fun to look forward to: the Tony Award-winning comedy Oh, Mary! is heading to the Mile High City as a strictly limited engagement in the Denver Center for the Performing Arts 2027/28 Broadway Season. The announcement, made on October 5, puts Denver on the map for one of the biggest comedy hits of the decade.
Written by Cole Escola and directed by Sam Pinkleton, Oh, Mary! has been a runaway sensation everywhere it goes. On Broadway, it became the first show in the Lyceum Theatre’s 121-year history to gross more than $1 million in a single week — and then it broke its own box office record 14 times. It was also the first show of the 2024/25 Broadway season to recoup its investment, and it picked up an Olivier Award for Best New Entertainment or Comedy Play after opening in London’s West End.
The North American tour launched to sold-out crowds in Hartford and record-breaking audiences in San Diego, prompting producers to extend it for a second year beginning in fall 2027 — with Denver on the itinerary. A live stage film captured in London’s West End will debut on HBO and HBO Max next year.
Exact engagement details, ticket information and casting will be announced soon. DCPA subscribers who renew for the 2027/28 season will secure presale access, and subscriptions for the 2026/27 season are available now at denvercenter.org.
