Fall in Dallas just got a whole lot more colorful! The Dallas Arboretum and Botanical Garden’s beloved Autumn at the Arboretum festival is back, running September 19 through November 1 with one of the season’s most spectacular sights: the nationally acclaimed Pumpkin Village.
This year’s theme, “Harvest Hues,” takes the festival in a bold new direction. More than 100,000 pumpkins, gourds and squash fill the garden, reimagined through the lens of modern and contemporary art — from Basquiat and Pollock to Mondrian, Rothko, Bourgeois and Escher. It’s an art walk you can wander through, sculpted entirely from autumn’s bounty.
The fun keeps coming all month. Adults can toast the season at Pumpkins and Pints on Friday, October 9 (6 to 9 pm); families have Little Adventurers on October 12; there is a sensory-friendly Pumpkins After Hours evening; and members get a frightfully fun new BOO-tanical Trick or Treat on October 23.
Whether you go for the photos, the art or simply a perfect fall afternoon, this Dallas tradition delivers. Find tickets and full details at dallasarboretum.org.
