Midnight is past bedtime — so the Columbus Zoo throws New Year’s Eve at noon. Zoo Year’s Eve (December 31) gives families a full countdown celebration in daylight: party hats, music, character appearances and a ball drop timed for small humans with big excitement.
The midday party wraps a regular zoo day in festive extras, letting kids ring in the new year with their favorite animals and still make it home for a normal bedtime — the parenting win of the season.
It’s included with admission, and winter zoo days bring their own magic: cold-weather animals at their most active, thinner crowds, hot drinks in hand.
Ten… nine… eight… Happy Zoo Year, Columbus!
