Holiday Magic Returns to Brookfield Zoo Chicago With Glowing Tunnels, a Light Maze and S’mores

Chicago’s holiday season is about to sparkle a little brighter. Holiday Magic is back at Brookfield Zoo Chicago, marking more than 40 years of sparkling lights, festive fun and holiday memories in Brookfield, just west of the city. The beloved celebration runs on select evenings from 3 to 9 p.m.: November 21 to 25 and 27 to 29, 2026, December 3 to 6, 10 to 13, 17 to 23 and 26 to 31, 2026, and January 1 to 3, 2027.

Step into a sparkling winter wonderland filled with themed areas, larger-than-life holiday displays and animal-themed light displays. Guests can wander through an expanded maze, walk through glowing light tunnels, roast their own s’mores, dance at the Retro Christmas dance area, enjoy seasonal treats and beverages, shop the Holiday Market and take a spin on the carousel. Several favorite indoor animal homes stay open during the evening, including Hamill Family Play Zoo, Australia House, the Gorilla Conservation Center and The Living Coast, so families can warm up and say hello to the animals along the way.

One special night deserves a star on the calendar: on Thursday, December 3, 2026, Sensory Friendly Holiday Magic welcomes guests of all ages and sensory needs with dimmed lights, softer music and reduced visual effects for a calmer, more comfortable evening. Tickets start at $29.95, and Brookfield Zoo Chicago members enjoy free admission on Holiday Magic dates. Gather the family, bundle up and make some bright new memories under the lights.
