Chicago, this is your moment: one of the most powerful museum experiences in America is free for every guest through October. The Griffin Museum of Science and Industry is offering free tickets to Anne Frank The Exhibition for all visitors through October 31 — a rare chance to experience history that moves, teaches and inspires.
The exhibition is an immersive, full-scale recreation of the Annex where Anne Frank, her family and four other Jewish inhabitants lived in hiding during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands. Griffin MSI is the first museum in the Midwest to present it, and Chicago is only the second U.S. city to host this extraordinary experience. Through multimedia installations, photographs, film, sound and more than 130 original collection pieces from the Anne Frank House in Amsterdam, visitors encounter an intimate portrait of Anne as a girl, a writer and a symbol of resilience and strength.
The exhibition is recommended for visitors ages 10 and older and runs through January 31, 2027. An included handheld audio guide carries most of the storytelling, and families can add the Flex Pass ($10 per ticket) for untimed express entry. Free tickets require General Admission and capacity is limited, so advance reservations are strongly encouraged — book now and don’t miss this unforgettable visit.
