Reedy Creek Park and Nature Center: Charlotte’s East-Side Adventure

Reedy Creek Park is east Charlotte’s everything-park: 125 acres where a family day can hold a nature hike, a soccer game, a dog-park hour and a history mystery — the stone ruins of the 1790s Robinson Rock House rising from the woods like a Carolina castle.

The Reedy Creek Nature Center is the park’s jewel, with live animals, a pollinator garden and trails through one of the county’s finest forests; its programs (from preschool nature walks to night hikes) fill fast. Around it spread ball fields, a disc golf course, basketball courts, fishing lakes and one of the city’s favorite off-leash dog areas, shaded and social.

It’s the kind of park that raises neighborhoods — and in northeast Charlotte, Reedy Creek is exactly that anchor.
