Boston’s Museum of Science is turning up the excitement this fall! The museum just unveiled a star-studded lineup of events for its brand-new William and Charlotte Bloomberg Public Science Common, a spectacular 10,000-square-foot civic venue that opens its doors to the public on October 10. And the best part: the calendar is packed with big names and big ideas.
The headline act is Luminaries, a brand-new series bringing together leading voices in culture, science, and technology. Kicking things off on October 19 is Emmy Award-winning comedian Trevor Noah, who will dive into a lively conversation about who shapes the future of artificial intelligence — its ethics, opportunities, and policy challenges.
The excitement doesn’t stop there. On November 19, astronauts Dr. Sian Proctor and Amanda Nguyen take the stage for “Breaking Barriers: Women in Space,” sharing their journeys beyond Earth and the obstacles they overcame, in a conversation moderated by astronomer and science communicator Athena Brensberger. The calendar also includes a panel on wildfire smoke and public health (November 4), a full Trust in Science Community Day with a book fair (November 8), an evening with bestselling author TJ Klune (November 20), and an Indigenous Knowledge and Climate Change conversation series (November 16).
The new venue is a showstopper in itself: floor-to-ceiling glass overlooking the Charles River, 270-degree views of the Boston skyline, and state-of-the-art immersive media and livestreaming technology. Plus, family-friendly programming includes dinosaur storytimes, hands-on sound experiments, and explorations of New England wildlife and the Gulf of Maine.
Tickets for the headline events are on sale now. Don’t miss this new chapter in Boston’s love affair with science!
