Boston Children’s Museum Hosts Its Seventh Halloween Spooktacular on October 24

Boston is getting a wonderfully friendly Halloween celebration for its youngest fans. Boston Children’s Museum will host its seventh annual Halloween Spooktacular on Saturday, October 24, from 5 p.m. to 8 p.m., an after-hours evening of trick-or-treating, games and costumes throughout the museum.

Families can try Pumpkin Putt-Putt and a candy corn ring toss, take a selfie with the Sanderson Sisters, and join the Jack-o’-Lantern Jamboree and a Pumpkin Jack-o’-Lantern Scavenger Hunt. A Monster Mash dance party with a DJ, a Creepy Crawly Animal Presentation at KidStage and a Spiderweb Maze Costume Contest — with prizes for the most imaginative, spookiest, cutest and best group costumes — keep the energy high all evening. Little’s Pumpkin Patch in PlaySpace is reserved especially for guests under age three, and trick-or-treating includes allergy-friendly options and special Boo Bags for the littlest visitors.

Tickets are $30 per person and advance tickets are required for this popular event, the museum says. Families who cannot make the big night can still enjoy the season with Pumpkin Patch of Play, running October 14 to November 1, with four family-friendly Halloween pinball machines, a trio of talking and singing jack-o’-lanterns, Monster Mash Jam sessions and a museum-wide pumpkin scavenger hunt — plus the signature Climber, now decorated with extra spider webs.

It is a joyful, not-too-scary way for Boston families to celebrate Halloween together through play.
