Portland families have a perfect Sunday plan this weekend. On Sunday, November 1, 2026, the Oregon Museum of Science and Industry — OMSI — drops its museum admission to just $5 per person for one of its popular $5 Days, making a full day of hands-on science one of the happiest bargains in the city.
That $5 admission opens all of OMSI’s classic exhibition areas, including Turbine Hall, the reimagined Science Playground where the littlest scientists play and experiment, and the Natural Sciences Hall. Families can wander from exhibit to exhibit, try the interactive displays together and let curious kids lead the way — no big ticket budget required.
The savings do not stop at the door. On $5 Days, tickets for Empirical Theater and Kendall Planetarium shows, tours of the USS Blueback submarine and select special exhibitions can also be purchased for $5 per person each. The Blueback tour is a favorite: a fascinating 45-minute walk through the U.S. Navy’s last active-duty diesel-electric submarine, a 219-foot vessel open to guests ages 3 and older.
OMSI expects a busy day and encourages families to buy tickets in advance online, especially timed tickets for the featured exhibition. OMSI is at 1945 SE Water Avenue in Portland. And if this Sunday slips away, the next $5 Day follows on Sunday, December 6 — happy news worth circling twice.
