Luminary Loppet 2027: Minneapolis Glows on the Ice on February 6

Minneapolis is getting ready to glow. The Luminary Loppet returns on Saturday, February 6, 2027, from 6:00 to 10:00 p.m., turning Lake of the Isles into a sparkling winter night out in the heart of the city.

Presented by the Loppet Foundation, the beloved event lines a candlelit course around the lake with more than 1,200 luminaries set on the ice. Along the way, walkers discover glowing ice features, from the Ice Pyramid and the Ice Henge to the Enchanted Garden, the Ice Room, the Ice Bells and the glowing Ice Dance Portal.

The evening is about more than the lights. Stops around the lake offer hot cocoa and s’mores, food trucks wait at the finish, and live music from the George Maurer Band keeps the celebration going. A Luminary Party adds to the festive mood, making the night a favorite for couples, friends and anyone who loves winter in Minneapolis.

Organizers recommend arriving on foot if you can: nearby streets close for the evening, free shuttle buses run from designated lots, and a free bike valet operated by Freewheel Bikes will be waiting at West Lake of the Isles Parkway and Logan Avenue.

Tickets go on sale January 1, with a special 26.2% discount on New Year’s Day, and the Loppet Foundation is also looking for volunteers to help light up the lake. However you join in, February 6 promises one of the prettiest nights of the Minneapolis winter.
