All Smiles: Alliance Theatre Celebrates Every Kind of Smile in a Sensory-Friendly Show for the Very Young

Smiles are like snowflakes: no two are exactly alike, and the Alliance Theatre is celebrating every single one of them. Through November 8, Atlanta families can catch All Smiles, a tender, sensory-friendly theater experience created for the very youngest audience members — newborns through five-year-olds — and their grown-ups.

How do you smile? With your mouth or with your eyes? Does it show on your face or only on the inside? All Smiles turns those playful questions into a gentle, 30-minute adventure where little ones explore the many ways we show, share and process our emotions — no intermission, no pressure, just delight.

What makes this production truly special is how it was made. All Smiles was created in partnership with the Marcus Autism Center, so every detail is designed to welcome children of all abilities and sensory needs. Created by Tinashe Kajese-Bolden and Samantha Provenzano and directed by Provenzano, the show arrives just in time for a cozy fall outing.

Performances take place in the intimate Selig Family Black Box Theatre on the Woodruff Arts Center campus at 1280 Peachtree Street NE in Midtown Atlanta. With dates running through November 8, families have plenty of chances to join in — but the coziest seats won’t last forever.

Bring your littlest theatergoer and discover that every smile is a masterpiece.
