Atlanta is having a birthday — actually, two! The Atlanta History Center and the High Museum of Art are both turning 100 this year, and to mark the occasion the two beloved institutions are joining forces for a very special evening.
On Thursday, October 8, 2026, the Atlanta History Center hosts “Centennial Conversations: Two Atlanta Museums at 100,” a panel bringing together the leaders of both museums for a lively conversation about a century of art, history and community in the city. Doors open at 6 p.m., the conversation begins at 7 p.m., and the exhibition hallways stay open until 9 p.m. so guests can explore the galleries before and after.
The panel is moderated by Allison Entrekin, editor-in-chief of Atlanta magazine, and features Rand Suffolk, director of the High Museum of Art, and F. Sheffield Hale, president and CEO of the Atlanta History Center, along with Julia Forbes and Pola Changnon. Dr. La’Neice Littleton, the History Center’s senior historian, gives a special introduction. Guests can expect never-before-heard stories and exclusive announcements about what is next for both institutions.
Tickets are $12 for non-members, while members of both the History Center and the High Museum attend free — and every ticket includes full access to the Atlanta History Center for the evening. It is a perfect chance to celebrate two Atlanta treasures and discover what the next 100 years could bring.
