Baltimore families looking for a calmer morning of play have a date to circle. On Sunday, November 15, 2026, from 9:00 to 11:00 am, Port Discovery Children’s Museum opens early for Sensory Friendly Sundays, its monthly program designed for a quieter, gentler museum experience.
For two hours before general opening, the Inner Harbor museum lowers the sound and lighting, limits admission, and adds sensory kits, a dedicated Quiet Zone, and extra support staff, so children can explore at their own pace. Families can roam all three floors of interactive exhibits inside the historic 1907 Fish Market building, from the four-story SkyClimber to the life-sized cargo ship The Port, Tiny’s Diner, and the Art Cove.
The program welcomes everyone: no proof of qualification is required, and the museum presents the morning as a celebration of neurodiversity and inclusive play. Advance registration is required, and the morning is included with museum admission for visitors and members.
Sensory Friendly Sundays return on the third Sunday of each month, making this a standing Baltimore tradition for families who love the museum best when it is calm, unhurried, and full of room to play.
