Houston, get ready to look up! The Wings Over Houston Airshow returns to Ellington Airport on Saturday, October 31 and Sunday, November 1, 2026, bringing two full days of thunder, color and family fun to the skies over southeast Houston. Headlining this year’s show are the United States Air Force Thunderbirds, whose precision formation flying never fails to draw gasps from the crowd below.
Organized by the Commemorative Air Force, with support from the Lone Star Flight Museum, the Houston-based Collings Foundation and the Vietnam War Flight Museum, Wings Over Houston is considered one of the top air shows in the United States. The program features some of the best military and civilian pilots in the world, from cutting-edge modern jets to beautifully restored vintage warbirds that connect younger visitors with living aviation history. On the ground, families can stroll among static aircraft displays, meet pilots and crews, and explore exhibits between flights.
Ellington Airport sits in southeast Houston, an easy drive for a weekend adventure with kids, grandparents and out-of-town guests. Advance discount tickets are available on the official website, and joining the free Air Show Insider list saves up to 20 percent on tickets. Pack sunscreen, bring ear protection for little ones, and arrive early — the best sky-watching weekend of the fall is almost here.
