Big Day of Play Fills DISCOVERY Children’s Museum with a Weekend of Imagination, November 7-8

Las Vegas families have a whole weekend devoted simply to playing. DISCOVERY Children’s Museum celebrates its Big Day of Play on Saturday, November 7, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Sunday, November 8, from 12 to 5 p.m., with a museum full of hands-on activities designed for kids and the grown-ups who join them.

Throughout the weekend, children can build, create, dance and discover. The program includes making friendship bracelets, designing healer headbands and hunting for hidden play pals around the museum in the Play Pals Scavenger Hunt. Special presentations add even more to explore, with a read-aloud for little learners, a Science of Perception demo that shows how our senses can surprise us, and a Dance Paw-ty the whole family can join. Families can also add a Slime Workshop and whip up their own batch of squishy, stretchy slime.

The celebration is included with museum admission, so visitors can move at their own pace between the Big Day of Play activities and the museum’s three floors of interactive exhibits in Symphony Park, downtown. It is a joyful, low-pressure way to spend a November weekend together – learning through play, exactly what this beloved nonprofit children’s museum does best.
