Teen Artists Take the Walls: Youth Council’s Annual Exhibition Opens November 5 at Tampa Museum of Art

Tampa’s next generation of artists is ready for its close-up. The Youth Council’s Annual Exhibition opens at the Tampa Museum of Art on November 5, 2026, and runs through January 3, 2027, showcasing artwork by local high school students in the museum’s galleries.

The Youth Council is a team of high school students who work side by side with the museum’s education staff to create teen programming designed to engage, educate and excite the youth of Tampa Bay. Their annual exhibition is the group’s big moment: a teen art show and accompanying reception created to foster a community where young people can express themselves artistically.

What makes the show special is who is in charge. The theme, the guidelines and the design are chosen by the Youth Council itself and change every year, so each edition feels fresh, personal and unmistakably made by teenagers, for everyone.

For families, it is a joyful stop on a downtown day out: see what Tampa’s teens are making, then stroll the Riverwalk right outside the museum’s doors at 120 West Gasparilla Plaza. The future of Tampa art is on these walls, and it looks bright.
